Four Year Full Time Programme

BACHELOR IN AUDIOLOGY & SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY (BASLP):

Bachelor of Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP) is a four-year course including 10 months of internship. It is evenly distributed in theoretical learning and clinical practice. The program includes techniques and methods that are helpful in diagnosing and treating Hearing, Speech, and Balance-related disorders amongst individuals. The course imparts education regarding various disorders related to Hearing, Speech, and Balance. Clinical practice helps individuals in treating these disorders and helping clients recover from these problems. Basically, it comprises three major areas as Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology.
Audiology is the science of Hearing. It deals with the study of typical sound perception and Balance mechanism, Hearing and Balance disorders and the rehabilitation of people suffering from Hearing and Balance disorders.
Speech Language Pathology is the science that deals with the study of Speech, Language and its disorders occurring in people (disorders related to Speech and Language). This course provides professional training to students and makes them capable of preventing, identifying, managing, and rehabilitating persons with Speech, Hearing and Balance disorders Knowledge about state-of-the-art hearing aids and Speech disorder assessment and therapeutic technology is also imparted to the students.
Duration:
It is 4 years undergraduate professional course. Out of these 4 years, regular classroom and practical academic activities are for 3 years and the last 10 months will be the internship in different hospitals and established educational institutes.
Eligibility:
  • The candidate must qualified 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board with minimum of 50% aggregate marks
  • For SC/ST the minimum marks is 40% and for PH candidate the minimum marks are 45%.
  • The candidate should have studied Physics, Chemistry and one of the subjects from Biology/ Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Statistics/ Electronics/ psychology.
  • There is no age bar for this course.
  • The NRI candidate can also join this course.

  • Aural Rehabilitation in Children

6th semester:

  • Motor Speech Disorders in Adults

  • Aural Rehabilitation in Adults 
  • Audiology in Practice Clinical/Practical is compulsory from Second Semester onwards
